Dear Friends,
The past months have been eventful with Holy Father's Birthday,
Cardinal Kung's triple anniversary celebration, and the very sad
passing of Archbishop Dominic Tang, S.J. The Foundation has been
active on all these occasions. Please join us for a recount of
these memorable days.
On the eve (May 17, 1995) of the 75th birthday of His Holiness,
the Chinese National Conference of Roman Catholic Bishops in
China, through the Cardinal Kung Foundation, sent its
congratulations with a spiritual bouquet of 1,000 Holy Masses for
His Holiness' intentions.
We are pleased to report that His Eminence is in reasonable good
health at age 94. He offers da
ily Mass in his chapel, very frequently for the intentions of the
persecuted Church in China and for the return of the brothers and
sisters who chose to leave the Roman Catholic Church.
The persecution of the Roman Catholic Church in China has not
stopped despite the recent economic progress in China. The
underground church, illegal in China, has no voice or resources
to bring its plight to the international communities. It needs
your support! Your donations have made possible the news releases
on the many atrocities suffered by the underground Church while
also supporting the programs of the vibrant underground church.
The underground Bishops in China are deeply grateful for your
continued support. We ask that you recommend The Foundation to
your friends. We would be grateful for opportunities to speak or
display exhibits on the underground church in your church,
meetings or conferences.
If you need extra copies of this newsletter booklet, please write
to us. The production/mailing costs within the United States for
each booklet is US $2.50. Your help in defraying this cost is
appreciated.
May Our Lady of China bless you and your family.
